The U.S. Supreme Court today acted on a suit filed just hours after President Obama signed into law a bill to ensure everyone residing inside the borders of the United States would be covered under some form of health insurance program beginning in 2014. While proponents of the legislation lauded the President’s action regardless of costs, opponents of the measure filed the suit in opposition to the several unfunded mandates in the bill and several special favors to congressmen in the form of everything from earmarks to allowing their state to opt out of ever having to pay federal taxes again. The suit, filed at
Because we are worried about the cow when it is all about the ice cream.
From a teacher in the Nashville area:
The most eye opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third graders last year. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.
To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot. The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia’s mother. The day arrived when they were to make their speeches. Jamie went first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Everyone applauded and he sat down.
Now it was Olivia’s turn to speak. Her speech was concise. She said, “if you will vote for me I will give you ice cream.” She sat down. The class went wild. “Yes!, Yes!! We want Ice cream.” She surely would say more. She did not have to. A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn’t sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it? She didn’t know. The class really didn’t care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a landslide.
Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and 52 percent of the people reacted like nine year olds. They want ice cream. The other 48 percent know they’re going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess.
This is the ice cream Obama promised us:
Remember, the government cannot give anything to anyone that they have not first taken away from someone else.
Thanks SGM
Addendum: I just read that President Obama failed to sign the executive order banning funding for abortions when he signed into law the government takeover of a sixth of the American economy. While the White House said Obama would sign the order soon, even money says he’ll wait until the people have had a chance to settle in to the fact that the America we grew up with will never be the same, then some other pressing issue will force it to the back burner, then finally off the table. End result: Stupak will still be waiting for his ice cream.

That’s right I’ll say it: THANK GOD FOR BARAK OBAMA!
He destroyed the Clinton Political Machine, driving a stake through the heart of Hillary’s Presidential aspirations. Something no Republican was ever able to do. Remember when a Hillary Presidency scared the daylights out of you?
He killed off the Kennedy Dynasty – No more Kennedy’s trolling Washington looking for booze and women wanting rides home. American women and Freedom are safer tonight!
He is destroying the Democratic Party before our eyes!
Dennis Moore had never lost a race – quit
Evan Bayh had never lost a race – quit
Byron Dorgan – had never lost a race – quit
Harry Reid – bid for re-election doesn’t look good
These are just a handful of the Democrats that whose political careers Obama has destroyed! By the end of 2010 dozens more will be! In December of 2008 the Democrats were on the rise. In the last two election cycles they had picked up 14 senate seats and 52 house seats.
