I heard an interview with some guy on Obama’s world tour say that his people think of Obama as a “messiah” of sorts.
Get a grip. The real Messiah was a carpenter and Obama can’t even put together a cabinet.

An economics professor said he had never failed a single student before but had once failed an entire class. The class had insisted that socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.
The professor then said ok, we will have an experiment in this class on socialism. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
After the first test the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. But as the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too, so they studied little. The second Test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame, name calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for anyone else.
All failed to their great surprise and the professor told them that socialism would ultimately fail because the harder one works to succeed the greater the reward but when a government takes all the reward away, no one will try or succeed.
I’m back. After a much too long hiatus I’ve decided, after seeing all that’s going on in the stupid/political arena, that the world needs my commentary. Ok, maybe “needs” is too strong a word but we’ll definitely be better off with more people pointing out stupidity wherever it lurks.
At any rate, the BlacKnight has donned his tarnished armor once again and mounted up.
Did you miss me?

Once upon a time a man appeared in a village and announced to the villagers that he would buy monkeys for $10 each.
The villagers, seeing that there were many monkeys around, went out to the forest and started catching them.
The man bought thousands at $10 and, as supply started to diminish, the villagers stopped their effort.
He next announced that he would now buy monkeys at $20 each. This renewed the efforts of the villagers
and they started catching monkeys again. Soon the supply diminished even further and people started going back to their farms. The offer increased to $25 each and the supply of monkeys became so scarce it was an effort to even find a monkey, let alone catch it!
The man now announced that he would buy monkeys at $50 each! However, since he had to go to the city on some business, his assistant would buy on his behalf. In the absence of the man, the assistant told the villagers:
‘Look at all these monkeys in the big cage that the man has already collected. I will sell them to you at $35 and when the man returns from the city, you can sell them to him for $50 each.’
The villagers rounded up all their savings and bought all the monkeys for 700 billion dollars. They never saw the man or his assistant again, only lots and lots of monkeys!
It’s been fairly quiet here on The Island of late. I get the feeling the mix of events between the election results and the massive level of government intervention in the free market has put a damper on thinking people’s input to the blog.
Perhaps most of you feel like I do right now. The whirlwind of recent political events coupled with the impending holiday season (plus the regular business of going to work and doing business) leaves me feeling like I’ve been beaten about the head and shoulders and left with a fog surrounding me.
Still, I find myself frequently going back to this election and trying to get a grip on what just happened and why. And no, I don’t mean whether this was referendum on Democrat or Republican position points (they are virtually the same anymore) or whether the election was a turning point in American History (outside of the obvious hoo-rah of the media). I mean what really happened.
