John, my friend, I just watched a sound byte of you telling an audience that they didn’t need to be afraid of Barack Obama as President of the United States. What the hell were you thinking!?! Are you trying to take the “high road”? Obama’s plan will take this country straight to the crapper and you’re telling voters not to be afraid of him!
You have one more debate before the election, and from what I’ve seen on your campaign trail so far this last debate is your last shot. If you don’t take the gloves off and quit trying to treat him civilly, he’s going to give you a sound thrashing on November 4th.
First, stop treating him as an equal. He is where he is because the media has elevated him there, not because he has done anything worthy of being there. They did this by not asking the tough questions, and it’s time for those questions to be asked. Regardless of who moderates this last debate you must take control. Let’s see some of the leadership you claim to be capable of. Make him answer the question “What have you accomplished? You talk a good game but where’s the beef?” The media has largely ignored the question of his compatriots and role models. Ask him about Saul Alinsky, whose book Rules For Radicals, Obama follows to the letter. In the prologue Alinsky wrote:
“There’s another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevski said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary change must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward change among the mass of our people. They must feel so frustrated, so defeated, so lost, so futureless in the prevailing system that they are willing to let go of the past and change the future. This acceptance is the reformation essential to any revolution. To bring on this reformation requires that the organizer work inside the system, among not only the middle class but the 40 per cent of American families - more than seventy million people - whose income range from $5,000 to $10,000 a year [in 1971]. They cannot be dismissed by labeling them blue collar or hardhat. They will not continue to be relatively passive and slightly challenging. If we fail to communicate with them, if we don’t encourage them to form alliances with us, they will move to the right. Maybe they will anyway, but let’s not let it happen by default.”
Sound like any Presidential candidates you know? Alinsky’s son said of Barack: “It looks like he’s learned dad’s lessons well.” A little was made of Barack’s not knowing the difference between a “strategy” and a “tactic”. Read here why Obama only understands tactics. It’s the terminology he’s been exposed to. And if you read Alinsky’s Rules For Radicals you will know most of the plays in Obama’s book, and therefore how to counter them.
Follow up:
Some people are beginning to focus on William Ayres, whom Barack says “lives in my neighborhood” and “sits on some boards with me”, always failing to note that his political career was started in Ayres’ living room. Barack consistently forgets to mention that when Ayres got a $50 million dollar grant to start one of those boards, he handpicked Obama to sit on it. There is also some speculation that Obama met his wife through Ayres, whose wife, Bernadine Dohrn, worked with Michelle. My friend, you must focus intently on the fact that Ayres remains to this day a terrorist, who only avoided jail because of allegations of prosecutorial misconduct. While Ayres’ goal remains the same, namely overthrow of our government, his strategy has changed in that instead of bombing our Capitol and police stations, he’s now throwing bombs into the minds of students at the institution where he teaches. Of course Ayers is now left out on the back porch for political expediency.
Next is The Reverend Jeremiah Wright, who said the attacks on 9/11 were merely America’s chickens coming home to roost. The Obamas sat in Wright’s church and listened to him spew hatred for 20 years yet they claim they never knew what he believed. Michelle Obama even mirrored Wright’s rants about a mean, U.S. KKK of A., going so far as to say she has never been proud of her country. But of course neither she, nor Barack paid any attention every Sunday in the pews of Wright’s church. So they let him baptize their kids and called him to pray for them when he made the decision to run for President, even though they knew not what he stood for. Interestingly enough, during the primary season when Hillary’s camp brought Wright and Ayers to light, Obama was prepared to throw in the towel, saying “we knew when we started that we didn’t have a chance at this”. But when the mainstream media refused to pick up and run with the story, the big O simply pushed ahead, clinching the Democratic nomination to everyone’s amazement (including his own). Wright is now sipping communion wine out on the back porch with Ayers.
In the midst of our current economic crises, brought on by the failed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, both the Democrats and Republicans refuse to point the finger at the Carter and Clinton administrations’ policies of requiring banks to loan money to people they knew couldn’t pay it back or face big fines, so it is up to you, my friend to do so. In the upcoming debate, you must show how the books were cooked, under the reigns of Franklin Raines, who walked away with close to $100 million in bonuses, and now serves as chief economic adviser to whom? None other than Barack Obama. (Obama says he is not getting paid, but I guess he really doesn’t need the money, now does he?) Can you say “Treasury Secretary Raines” in an Obama administration? Unfortunately Obama hasn’t had the good judgment to put Raines out on the back porch and unless you hammer him on it he won’t have to.
When Barack counters that you’re trying to convict him with guilt by association please ask him to give us someone other than terrorists, radical preachers and slumlords with whom he associates. Would that be Barney Frank and Chris Dodd? Those are the guys who (along with him) took the most money from Fannie Mae and shut down every effort to bring oversight to it. John, my friend, remind America that we don’t know Barack Obama and he won’t give us any references, so we must rely on the ones we can dig up (because ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN and PMSNBC sure won’t do it). So far here are Obama’s friends and supporters: The Black Panthers, The Chicago Young Communists League, The Committee of Correspondence for Democracy and Socialism, Fidel Castro, Hamas (yes, that Hamas, the terrorist group), the Party of European Socialists, Mu’ammar al-Quaddafi and the Communist Party of the USA (who reportedly can’t endorse anyone, but the individual membership sure isn’t conservative, if you know what I mean). (I have to give props to Doug Giles at www.clashradio.com for doing the research to come up with that A-list of anti-American-way-of-life radicals who support Barack Obama). Close that segment of the debate by noting that if Barack does win the election, the white house back porch will need a huge expansion.
On the military and foreign policy: John, it was lost on most, but when Obama said Americans were “air-raiding villages and killing civilians” that was a direct attack on you and your service to the country. You flew those jets in VietNam and he was taking aim at your service and your missions, thinly camouflaged in the backdrop of Iraq. Bring up to the debate audience that it was a lie and he knew it was a lie when he said it, but it’s one of the principles in Alinsky’s book so he did it anyway. Demand that he either produce evidence that you bombed civilians or shut up about it.
Obama said he’d sit down without pre-condition to meet with our enemies. My friend, you must highlight that the countries he’s referring to, Iran, North Korea, Syria all hate us and would wipe us off the map if they could. That is the definition of enemy, and he wants to offer them the same stature as that of our friends, Great Britain, Germany, France, all the rest of Europe, Australia, Japan, South Korea. We spent decades nurturing political alliances and economic policies aimed at mutually beneficial relationships and he wants to put our enemies on the same plane as our friends. When he talked about invading Pakistan, he’s talking about one of the few allies we have in the region and we can’t afford to alienate them.
Barack has ridiculed you for saying it may be a hundred years before we can get our troops completely out of the Middle East. You would do well to remind him that WWII has been over for more than 60 years and Korea for more than 50, yet we still have troops in Europe, Japan, The Philippines, Korea and elsewhere around the globe protecting, through deterrence and assistance, U.S. interests. Does Obama advocate bringing our troops home from those countries as well? Or will he only cut and run from countries where there is a real need for stability and help for fledgling democracies?
Next, make Barack tell the American people exactly what will happen when he raises taxes on every individual and business earning more than $250K per year. Word it something like this: “Mr. Obama, you’ve said you’ll only raise taxes on businesses and individuals earning more than $250,000 per year. Any reasonably intelligent person knows that investors in those businesses won’t just sit still and pay those taxes out of profits. So do you recommend those investors, who are the real fuel behind our economic growth, make up those profits by cutting jobs, by not investing in growth, or by simply passing the increases along to consumers, and if they do the latter isn’t that an indirect tax that will be paid by everyone, even middle and low income families, some of whom currently pay no taxes?” Follow up question: “Where did that $250K threshold come from? Was it because that’s what your wife’s pay was increased to around the time you requested a million dollar earmark for the hospital where she worked, or is that just a coincidence?”
Obama has said he will punish companies that send jobs outside our borders, yet he wants to send billions of tax dollars to help rebuild The Republic of Georgia. Point out that sending dollars builds dependents while sending jobs builds allies (that’s true at home as well, but that’s fodder for another blog). Then you come up with a plan to let the American companies that choose to do so, do business overseas in areas that need economic growth, and then collect taxes on the profits those companies realize. If Mr. Obama is so concerned about American jobs, tell him to come up with a plan to deport all the illegal aliens, thus freeing up those positions for Americans who need work.
Finally, energy: Smack him like you’d hit your little sister’s abusive husband for his statement that we don’t need to drill here because we can save as much oil as we can drill by inflating our tires and tuning up our cars. Use this statement to put Obama’s picture next to the definition of “out of touch with reality”. Grab the issue and run with it, noting that the very proposition of drilling American oil caused the price of crude to drop. If we were to actually move forward and drill, it would make us more energy independent and drop the price of crude on the world market. In my original letter to George W. Bush I outlined how to get that accomplished and create new, high-paying jobs at the same time. I know W. saw the letter because he used a line from it the very next day in a speech, but I guess he feels the plan can’t be implemented in time so he didn’t announce it. That’s leaves you to announce this initiative, and the American people will love you for it.
In the first debate, when asked which of your plans you would sacrifice until the current financial crisis was solved, you proposed a spending freeze. What you need to do in this debate is propose a tax freeze. No cut yet, but no tax increases on businesses or individuals, and that includes leaving the Bush tax cuts in place. You must do this before Franklin Raines gets Obama to say it. Everyone knows he wants to raise taxes, but if he announces a tax freeze before you do he wins, and just might win the election because of it. There ain’t no points for second place, my friend.
In closing, your efforts to stay on the high road are laudable. But the stakes are just too high to risk losing because you wouldn’t highlight the shortcomings of this done nothing, know nothing wannabe who isn’t worthy to be in this fight in the first place. Remember Buster Douglas and Mike Tyson? At the end of the day, the last thing America needs is for you to take the high road to the land of Presidential also-rans.
Good Luck and God Speed my friend,
The BlacKnight
