Since all the Dems seem so dead set on comparing Barack to Sarah, would someone please tell me who the Democratic candidate is whom you would like to compare to John McCain in character and judgment, and why that person didn’t get the nomination?
Comparing Palin to Obama is a smoke screen to what the real comparison should be: Obama to McCain. Some are enamored that Obama wrote two books (which can be found in the FICTION section of a local bookseller). McCain has authored five, in the non-fiction category. Titles: Faith of My Fathers; Worth Fighting For; Why Courage Matters: The Way to a Braver Life; Character Is Destiny: Inspiring Stories Every Young Person Should Know and Every Adult Should Remember; and Hard Call: Great Decisions and the Extraordinary People Who Made Them. McCain also wrote articles, forewords to other books, and speeches, none of which would be noteworthy except that they all give us an insight into the character of this man who would be President (Character matters even though Bill Clinton

did so much to try to convince us that it doesn’t).
A lot of conservative talk-show hosts keep calling for someone to list the things that Obama has done that qualify him to be president. So much so that I’m tired of hearing the same old non-answer rhetoric ("He was a community organizer.” So what. So was Jesse Jackson. You want him in the oval office?).
I would like someone to give me the list of things that define Obama’s character and judgment. Things like his writings (he certainly likes to write about himself); or his opinions (thinks it’s ok to kill a baby that survives a late-term abortion attempt; thinks gasoline needs to hit $12 a gallon; and these two are in a tie for a “does he really believe his own BS?” Truly Stupid award: believes that if you air up your tires and tune up your car we can save as much oil as we could drill; and doesn’t believe drilling American oil will reduce our dependence on foreign oil); or the people that he associates with (he went to church with Reverend Wright for 20 years, having his children Baptized there and calling the Rev. Wright for counsel when deciding to run for President, yet we’re supposed to believe he didn’t know about Jeremiah’s radical, anti-American rhetoric? Oh that’s right, we were supposed to believe that Bill Clinton didn’t inhale either. Or his association with Bill Ayers, a terrorist who said he didn’t do enough terrorism.) How about his votes in his state legislature (Voted “present” 131 times. How wishy-washy do you have to be to refuse to take a position on 131 issues? Is that what his constituents elected him for?) Or the U.S. Senate (the absolute most liberal voting record in the Senate).
So…would the *real* Democratic Presidential candidate please stand up?

Note to Nancy Kirby: In looking over all the bills Barack has “sponsored", I noticed a recurring trend, namely that a great deal of them were re-introduced from a previous legislative session, meaning he couldn’t have written or even drafted them, and in going down the list, I’ve so far only found one, that wasn’t some type of feel good resolution, that actually made it into law. And that bill was S.2125: Democratic Republic of the Congo Relief, Security, and Democracy Promotion Act of 2006. Simply put, that bill authorized payment to the DRC for their own troops to stop raping and killing their own citizens. So there’s a tidbit of insight into Barack’s foreign policy: Diplomatic bribery!
let's get to the blogger fodder. when and where did obama say he was for late term abortions. if your refering to his vote in the Ill. senate, lets look at the proposed law.
In 1997, Obama voted against SB 230, which would have turned doctors into felons by banning so-called partial-birth abortion, & against a 2000 bill banning state funding. Although these bills included an exception to save the life of the mother, [they didn't include anything about abortions necessary to protect the health of the mother]. The legislation defined a fetus as a person, & could have criminalized virtually all abortion. from ontheissues.org. where and when did he say he was for killing late term surviving fetus? no blog sites please.
$12 a gal gas, the only time he said $12 a gallon was in a statement warning of what will happen if Iran's oil production is interrupted. "if Irans oil production is interrupted, the price of crude oil will go to over 300$ and fuel to $12 a gallon" from utube. nowhere is it found on reputable sites did he say he wants gas to get to $12 a gallon. as far as barak saying keeping tires inflated to proper pressure and keeping vehicles tuned up will save fuel is really stupid, uh if everyone did it (they won't conservation doesn't sell) a less fuel usage of 3% or more would be realized right now, if we start to drill offshore today it would not be until 2030 when the first oil would be pumped and if they maxed the number of wells it would still only supply 1 percent of the national usage of oil. do the math. as far as rev wright see ez rider comment . and lastly the william ayers conspiracy, lets see william ayers is a distingished professor of education at the u. of chicago, and is held in high regard for his work and books on education, but yes he did belong to the SDS and the weatherman faction and made alot of infammatory remarks, he was never prosicuted for any crime and the only bomb he was associated with killed three of the members. now lets see obama taught at u of c, ayers teaches at u of c they met at a function at ayers home yeah i see the conspiracy, who gets the last shrimp cocktail duh. his state legislature votes, a present vote also equals a no vote without the political ramification, yeh a copout but they (politicions) all do it. as far as who is standing up, let's see what makes a good leader, 1 able to communicate, obam can speak and it is clear what he is saying, to those that are not close minded, macbush, not going to be any teleprompters at the debates. 2. charisma, ya gotta admit obama got it, don't see it in macbush. 3. patience/tolerance. i see it in obama, all of the slaps and punches at him have not seen him lose it, macbush is known for his quick temper. these are just a few, not all of the traits for a good leader and i just see more pluses in the obama column than the macbush one. his "liberal voting record" you say that as if its a bad thing. somebody gotta keep those right wing, religous, hawks from screwing this country. IMHO
