Ok, I feel that if you are dumb enough to go past police perimeters and then are dumb enough not to get back behind them when they tell you to, your dumb a** deserves to be arrested whether you are press or not. A badge with your picture and the word "PRESS" on it is cool to use when you're trying to get into places you shouldn't at the State Fair or when you want to get up front and personal at a concert. It is not cool to use it as a "shield" to the law. While I understand it is the press' job to report the news, I don't want up close shots of the crime scene with the blood still on the pavement. If people watching your newscast do, then they are sick, twisted individuals. Just report the damn news, keep your nose to yourself (unless it's in the public interest and who the mayor is sleeping with or who's pregnant with who's baby is not) and if you get your a** in trouble, face the consequences. If that means jail for a minute until your producer bails your nosy ass out, then so be it.

I have to agree with Gracie, too many times "journalists" seem to feel as if they are above rules set down by competent authority. I suppose I am biased since my experiences with "journalists" go back to 1968, in Vietnam, and there I watched many times when they took liberty with their position and have watched since then with a jaundiced eye. Put her in the tank for a few hours and she will now be able to be a victim in the newsroom and be eligible for whatever medals they get for that sort of actions.

I'd love to comment on this but I'm actually in a good mood today.

Attempting to discuss anything to do with the Elites (who are exempt from anything the rest of us mere mortals are subject to) will just leave me hardwired to the pissed-off position.

You might as well ask me to say something nice about my first wife (and she was, I am absolutely certain, the daughter of the devil).

    ****-
Being in law enforcement myself, I simply have this to say... A press badge allows one to illegally cross a police line as much as a police badge allows an officer to go into your home because he wants to.
